Bargaining Updates

I am extremely pleased that we’ve been able to reach a tentative framework settlement with ATU Local 113, and avoid any job action and service disruptions.

This is a fair deal that is affordable for the TTC and respectful of the important work the 11,500 members of ATU Local 113 do every day to keep our system safe and our service reliable.

As the settlement still needs to be ratified by the union membership and approved by TTC Board, we cannot share details at this time.

I want to thank the TTC Board for its guidance and leadership as well as members of both bargaining teams for their hard work to reach this framework settlement without any negative impact on TTC customers.

Bargaining Update (June 6, 2024)

Teams from the TTC and ATU Local 113 are back at the bargaining table today as the deadline for a labour disruption approaches (midnight tonight). We remain optimistic that with talks progressing well, we can reach a fair deal that avoids service interruptions and inconvenience for our customers. However, in the event of a labour disruption, the TTC and ATU Local 113 last night reached an agreement that operators would continue to operate until subway service ends between 2 and 3 a.m. tomorrow Friday, June 7. This agreement is in place should a labour disruption occur on or near tonight’s midnight deadline. The TTC advises that if customers need to travel after midnight, they should be prepared to make alternative plans to complete their journey. Real-time updates will be posted at www.ttc.ca/bargaining as well as on our social media channels - @TTCNotices and @TTCHelps on X (Twitter), Facebook and Instagram (@taketheTTC). A previous agreement also ensures that all Wheel-Trans services will continue uninterrupted in the event of job action, including contracted Accessible Taxis and Sedan Taxis. The TTC values the important work that all our employees do every day to deliver safe and reliable service – the employees in ATU Local 113 are an integral part of our operations. We remain committed to keeping everyone updated on negotiations as they progress. We encourage both our employees and customers to check our website at www.ttc.ca/bargaining for the most current updates

Bargaining Update (June 5, 2024)

This past weekend, the TTC and ATU Local 113 reached an agreement to ensure that all Wheel-Trans services will continue uninterrupted in the event of job action. All Wheel-Trans contracted accessible taxis, and sedan taxis will operate without disruption for our customers who are able to use these vehicles. We understand the importance of reliable, accessible transit, especially for those who rely on Wheel-Trans, and we will increase the number of contracted vehicles in service if required to meet customer demand. The TTC remains optimistic that a new collective bargaining agreement will be reached, however, members of ATU Local 113 will be in a position to take labour action, including a strike, starting this Friday, June 7 at 12:01 a.m. The TTC values the important work that all our employees do every day to deliver safe and reliable service – the employees in ATU Local 113 are an integral part of our operations. We remain committed to keeping everyone updated on negotiations as they progress. Bargaining Update (June 4, 2024)

Contract talks between the TTC and ATU Local 113 that began in February continue this week. The negotiations have been productive and professional with both sides committed to reaching a settlement that avoids service disruption. As with any labour talks, there are numerous issues to work through, and negotiators are systematically addressing all of them at the bargaining table. However, we are encouraged by recent settlements we reached with three of our other union partners. We remain committed to keeping customers and employees informed of any major developments as we approach the Friday 12:01 am strike deadline. This page and the TTC’s various social media channels will all transmit any important information in real time. We appreciate everyone’s patience.
